Andrea - Vocals
Singing since the age of 6, Andrea has honed her vocal ability to that of a finely tuned and exquisitely crafted instrument.
Whether it be the tones of a young Janis Joplin or the grunt of Christina Amphlett , Andrea has the range and gusto to sing any type of music from the last 53 years.
Michael - Guitar
In between his love of small furry animals and motorbikes, Michael's other major love is the guitar, which he took up as a means of meeting women and motorbike riding small furry animals.
Self taught and with an uncanny musical ear, he is the yang to Ian's yin; the Sonny to his Cher; the fruit to his loop and finally, the pork to his vindaloo.
Jean Claude - Keys
Elton John , Billy Joel, John Lennon, Jackson Browne, Jean Claude..... what do these names have in common ? They all contain the letter J.
Who needs 10 fingers when you can do what Jean Claude does with 1 on his Casio keyboard. Able to play in time signatures not yet invented, scales no man has heard before and at sub-atomic tempos, 'JC' brings his A Game to every live show.
Ian - Guitar & Vocals
Ian likes a good curry and loves a glass of red, but what he loves most of all is wielding his Fender Stratocaster on stage with RetroMax. Sometimes he might even play it.
If the callouses, warts and blistering sores on his fingers and hands are anything to go by - he sure does love his instrument.
Eugene - Bass
They call Eugene 'Twinkle Fingers' - not because of his musical ability, but because of a nerve related injury he suffered during a freak and very tragic accident incurred whilst building a model ship in a bottle in the late 70s.
However, it maybe is due to the involuntary muscle spasms in his fingers that allows Twinkle Fingers to shred the bass guitar like no man before him.
Maurice - Skins
4 on the floor. Sometimes 3. Often 2. Maurice can bring the beat to any party.
His kit of choice is a custom Sonar kit, with skins taken directly from the from the backs of poor, homeless Indian children, each costing a few rupees. With Eugene on the bass, these 2 guys form the backbone of Retromax, whilst exposing the backbones of those poor children- and deliver that groove that every band needs.
